February 24 Weekend Roundup: 'Get Out' Marks Another Blumhouse Horror Win

Get Out opened to a stellar $30.5M this weekend, riding extremely positive advance critic reviews and a relatively high rate of social media growth. It slightly outperformed our estimates by less than 5%. Both Collide and Rock Dog opened to some of the lowest numbers in recent memory, but our confidence intervals were able to accurately predict both grosses with a mean percent error of less than 10%.

The below chart shows our forecasts (lower bound, mean, upper bound) from last Friday next to several other industry forecasts and actual performance. Note: BoxOfficeMojo.com was not able to release forecasts for this weekend so they have not been included.
