Edgar Wright returns after the Ant-Man controversy, with another critically-acclaimed action-comedy, Baby Driver. Baby Driver faces the challenges of being an original new film. Our models forecast a $27M opening for this potential sleeper hit.

The House suffers from its weak social media presence and poor reception. Our models’ prediction for the weekend is a muted $10.1M.

Despicable Me 3

There is no denying that the Minions have successfuly invaded the minds of children and families everywhere as commodities with fuzzy, friendly faces. Despicable Me 3 will continue the series’ box office hit. However, there are signs of slowing down as fourth installments in franchises often do.

Baby Driver

Even though Baby Driver appears to have the strongest chance of being a cult classic one day, will it attract audiences this weeekend? The stellar reviews and reception support a solid $27M opening in our forecast.

The House

Despite the popularity of well-known comedic celebrities Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler, The House struggles to bring in audiences to what looks to be another forgettable comedy.
